How To Submit Your Music Directly To Spotify Curated Playlists |
Did you know that you can now submit your music directly to Spotify curated playlists? Spotify has a new feature that allows artists to submit music for consideration to be included on Spotify's official playlists, curated in house. In other words, many of the biggest playlists on Spotify.
To submit your tracks, go to your "Spotify For Artists" dashboard. Then go to your catalog page and from there, go to your "upcoming releases" page. You can only submit tracks for consideration that haven't been released yet, at least for now.
So for your tracks you've already released, this feature won't work. But for upcoming releases, there is now an option to submit from the "upcoming releases" page directly to Spotify, to have them consider your tracks for a variety of their "in house' playlists.
To account for this, I'm now scheduling all my new releases several weeks in advance. This way, they show up in my "upcoming releases" page a few weeks prior to being released on Spotify, which allows me time to make sure each new released is submitted for consideration in Spotify's playlists. I just submitted my first single using this method this morning, and plan to release a new single every two weeks or
so.
I'll be making a video in the near future to walk you through the exact steps of how to do this and what this looks like and sharing future results of using this new feature.
If you distribute music via CD Baby, you can acess "Spotify For Artists" via the "Tools & Promotion" page. I assume other distributors like Tunecore and Distrokid, have a similar way to
access Spotify. Check inside the dashboard area of whatever distribution company you use to find this feature.
