As you've probably noticed by now, I've taken an interest in Spotify recently. Don't worry, I'm not abandoning licensing and teaching how to make money from licensing. Not at all. However, my goal is and has always been, to provide a map for how to make it in the modern day music business. I see licensing
as a key part of that. I also am increasingly starting to see streaming music on platforms like Spotify as another, equally important piece of the puzzle.
Some of you have already realized this. Some of you are just starting to see this. And perhaps some of you are still not aware of the potential for earning money on these platforms and are still clinging to the belief that millions of streams on Spotify
only pays like twenty dollars.
We've all heard horror stories of artists signed to label deals that generate next to nothing for millions and millions of streams. Well, some of these stories are true, but this is because they're signed to bad deals and most of the money ends up going to their labels.
This simply isn't the case for independent artists.
I recently did a podcast with an artist who generated over 20 million streams of his music on Spotify. Someone left a comment on the podcast that said, "Wow, so in other words a story about how one artist made five dollars". Wrong. More like $80,000.00!
Our first release is the new Spotify playlist curator directory. Getting featured on playlists is one of the keys to growth on Spotify. With our new directory of playlists and their curators, you'll be able to submit your music directly to 500 playlists.
We offered a promo period on our
directory for close to two weeks, at a discounted introductory price of $27.00 (normally $47.00). I sent multiple emails letting everyone know when the price would go up. Yet, many of you emailed me after the promo was over and said "Aaron, what gives? You said this directory was just $27.00, why is it more?""....
Well, I get it. We're all busy and I know you have other things to do besides just reading my
emails.
Someone actually wrote me this morning and said "please change the price back". Well.... ask and you shall receive. After initially laughing at this request, I decided why not. Why not run the promotion one final weekend?
So here's the deal. You have one final weekend to get the new Spotify Playlist Directory at the introductory price of just $27.00, after that the promotion ends and the price will go up to the full price of $47.00, and eventually $97.00.
I've also added some extra bonuses in addition to the introductory price, including a video version
of the podcast I did with Chillstep artist "Killigrew' on how he generated over 20 million Spotify streams, and a couple other relevant videos.
Also, if you get the directory this weekend, you'll get free updates for life of the directory. Spotify is an evolving platform and there are tons of playlists out there. Not all of them accept submissions. But our goal is to keep adding the ones that do.
We'll be updating the directory periodically with new playlists and submission information on how to submit your music. This weekend only, you'll get these free updates for life when you purchase our directory.
So, that's it. If you missed out on the introductory offer, this is your last chance to lock in your
savings and get the version with free updates. The price is going up for good after this weekend. Save between now and November 4th.
Musically Yours,
Aaron Davison
