Using Reference Tracks To License More Music

In my latest video I discuss how using reference tracks when writing music for licensing will greatly improve your odds of success. If you're not sure what kind of music to write, or if you feel like you're sort of shooting in the dark with your tracks, focus on what works.

Study music that is similar to the type of project you're pitching to, either by listening to previous tracks used by the show you're pitching to, in the case of TV shows, or by familiarizing yourself with specific reference tracks, when provided.

In this video, I discuss how I was able to sign a song to a TV show on A&E recently by modeling my track after a reference track I was provided for the project.
