How To Finance Your Recordings

Do you struggle to finance your recordings?  Do you have a hard time figuring out how to get your songs up to speed production wise? Do you feel like you lack the skills to adequately produce your own tracks and have a hard time figuring out how to pay for the quality producers you need to record your song correctly for licensing and other opportunities?

This is an issue I struggled with for a few years when I first started licensing my tracks.  Licensing your music is really a business like any other business in the sense that there are costs involved in getting started.  It takes money and effort to produce tracks that will compete in today's licensing marketplace.  I hate to use the word "marketplace" and music in the same sentence.  But, let's face it.  This is a business.

I made a video recently where I walk you through the steps I go through when I write, record and promote my music. I show you how I've reduced my production costs by about half, compared to what I used to spend, but still get results that meet the standards needed for licensing.

I use a recent song that I licensed as an example. In the video I show you my process for recording and producing my tracks and how I know when my tracks are ready to start being pitched to licensing opportunities.

To see how I approach recording and marketing my music, check out the video here:

Happy Songwriting!
