If I had to pick one step that's the most important part of getting your music licensed, apart from writing great music, it would be making connections. I write about a lot of the technical aspects of the music licensing business in my
newsletter and on my blog. I cover things like music publishing, music licensing contracts, music supervision and so on. These things are all important to know about. The more educated you are about the business the better you'll be able to navigate your way through the industry and sign deals that are in your best interest.
But in terms of actually getting your music licensed, it really comes down to making connections. All the knowledge about music licensing in the world isn't going to help you if you aren't actually making connections with the right people and getting your music into the right hands.
Assuming your music is "up to speed", the most important thing you can do on a regular basis in order to get your music licensed is connect with people working in the industry. A lot of the technical aspects of the business you can learn as you go. Not knowing the ins and outs of the variety of licensing deals that exist won't prevent you from licensing your music. But if you don't connect with the right people in the first place, you're never going
to be offered any deals and you're not going to get your music licensed.
One of the reasons that I'm so excited about my newest program, "The 180 Day Music Licensing Challenge" is that it provides a structure for musicians to connect with people working in the business who are looking for music on a
regular basis. It's very hard to work at something consistently for 180 consecutive days and not make at least some progress.
In fact, I'm so confident that you'll get results from The 180 Day Challenge, that if you go through the entire course and don't feel like it was worth the cost, I'll give you your money back. No questions asked.
When I created The 180 Day Challenge I thought a lot about when I first started in the licensing business and the steps that I took that ultimately led to success. As I reverse engineered the steps I went through to license my own
music, I realized it wasn't until I started to take very consistent steps to connect my music with the right people that I found success. It wasn't enough to just occasionally send my music to someone on a whim. It required a much more deliberate and consistent effort.
The 180 Day Challenge is the program that I wish was around when I started out. Here's how the program works:
When you sign up for the 180 Day Challenge you'll immediately get access to all the bonus material. You'll get three bonus courses, 20 in depth interviews with music licensing professionals, pdf files, my ebook, a
comprehensive licensing directory, The Advanced Music Licensing Strategies course and more. You'll get over 20 hours of in depth training about the music licensing business alone in just the bonus items. Learn more here: http://www.180daymusiclicensingchallenge.com/
When the program officially starts on Monday, December 28th, you'll start receiving daily licensing leads of specific places to submit your music. You'll get 180 daily leads for 180 consecutive days! That's six month worth of leads to specific people and places that are
looking for music.
During the first week of the program we'll also schedule a one on one phone consultation to discuss your specific situation and address any specific questions you have.
Throughout the program you'll also have access to me via email in the event any additional questions arise.
I'll also be hosting monthly conference calls where I'll be addressing your questions, discussing specific topics related to licensing your music and will be featuring several guest speakers.
I'm also going to be available once a week via a live facebook chat to assist with any issues that come up.
The 180 Day Challenge is starting on Monday, December 28th, but if you register by December 14th you'll save $100.00 off the full price and also get the following free bonuses:
