Happy New Year!
Wow it's hard to believe it's already 2015.
I don't believe in writing New Year resolutions, per se. But there is something about entering a new year that makes me pause and reflect on the previous year and think about how to make this year better. 2014 was a great year for many in many ways, both musically and personally. I recorded a new ep, played shows to new audiences in the US, Mexico and Panama, signed several new licensing contracts and made some great new relationships along the way.
As great as last year was, in retrospect I realize I could have accomplished much more. I got off to a slow start last year due to some personal issues I was going through at the beginning of the year. Nothing too dramatic. Just typical, run of the mill life issues most of us deal with at one time or another. By the end of the year that was all resolved and I finished 2014 feeling stronger and more confident about things than I have in a long time.
What's the point? The point is life goes by fast and it's easy to let time sort of slip through our fingers. This year I plan on hitting the ground running and making a commitment each and every day to moving forward and I invite you to do the same. I started planning my new 180 Day Music Licensing Challenge last October. The goal was to create a framework for moving forward in the music licensing business that provided specific action steps to do on a daily basis. I decided to start the program at the beginning of the year because I think there's something powerful about making a new commitment at the beginning of a new year. It sort of sets the stage for the entire year. That, and it took me this long to create everything in the program.
If one of your goals is licensing your music in 2015 I invite you to take the 180 Day Music Licensing Challenge with me and the several dozen musicians who have already signed up. I'll be submitting my music and participating in the program alongside everyone who takes the course. I'll be an active member on the forum I've created to answer any questions that come up and will be sharing my own experiences as well.
Did you miss out on signing up for the 180 Day Music Licensing Challenge starting this Monday? A few of you emailed me and said you wanted to sign up but weren't able to on time. I'm opening up registration for two more days, today and tomorrow, to give everyone who didn't sign up another chance to join me and the other several dozen participants who have signed up in moving our music careers forward this year.
Here's a testimonial I received a few days ago from someone who took my last training program:
"Hi Aaron,
I just wanted to thank you for a lovely course and for doing what you do. Not to mention all the inspiring stories and emails. I've had some really nice success being published on a few sites. I got a huge buyout deal for my classical piano recordings from one site in particular that is awesome and still on going. As well had one purchase of some of my electronic music. I think one of the best things the course has taught me is how to be organized with my music. Getting things done, finishing projects and getting it out there. As well the standards in mastering, different file formats and what people are looking for. Developing relationships with different companies and figuring out what they like. James Langevin"
I've also thrown in some great free bonuses, including over $200.00 worth of free courses.
