Consistent Action Leads To Consistent Results

Over the few years or I've worked with hundreds of songwriters one on one, helping them get their music placed in TV and Films.  I've learned a lot about what both seems to be working for songwriters as well as what holds some songwriters back.  One of the most common thing that seems to hold most songwriters back who are struggling in getting their music placed, is simply failing to take enough consistent action while working towards their goals.

In my new program, The 90 Day Music Licensing Challenge, I encourage songwriters to submit their music to at least one new place every day, for 90 days.  It's a simple formula that will greatly increase the odds of getting your music into the right hands at the right time.  It's also an immensely educational process as you'll learn a great deal about the industry and how your music fits into the grand scheme of things.  You may find that certain styles of music you write fare a better chance of being used than others and you can then apply the information you learn as you move forward.

The hardest part about getting started in the music licensing business is just getting started.  If you've never licensed your music before, or even if you have, it can be intimidating putting your music on the line and risking rejection.  But if you can set your ego aside and just go for it, it can actually be very exciting.  Worst case scenario is you go through the program and don't make any new contacts or getting any deals, BUT you learn about the market and what kinds of songs people are actually looking for so that you can improve your craft going forward.  Best case scenario is you go through the program and develop new relationships that lead to new placements and new deals.  Either way, you'll learn a lot about the business and how it works.

When I first started trying to license my own music, what initially held me back was simply not knowing how to get started.  It seemed overwhelming.  At first I made a few half-hearted attempts to license my music that went nowhere.  It wasn't until I started diligently pursuing music licensing every day that I made progress pretty quickly.  The 90 Day Music Licensing Challenge provides a framework for getting going in the business very quickly and expediting your success.
