Last week I was talking to
one of the participants in one of my music licensing courses, Todd Forman, and it turns out that Todd, in
addition to being a family physician who graduated from Harvard, also happened
to play saxophone with the original line up of the band sublime and toured the
world with the second incarnation of the group, Sublime With Rome, in 2010.
During his time with Sublime, Todd
played for crowds as big 80,000 people in Brazil and played venues like Red
Rock, Jones Beach ampi-theatre and many more.
After a year and half touring with Sublime, Todd decided that the
lifestyle wasn't for him and decided to walk away from what would be a dream job
for many musicians and return to his life as a physician.
I asked Todd if he would tell his story on
my podcast, Music, Money and Life, and he said yes. Todd talks about what it was like playing
with Sublime in the early days, the circumstances that led to singer Brad
Nowell's death in 1996, and what it was like to live the life of a rock star
for a year and a half. Check out my
interview with Todd here:
