A Statement Regarding Taxi

Published: Wed, 02/09/11

(
A couple days ago I sent out an email comparing the cost of my upcoming music licensing master class with the cost of a couple competing, similar services.  One of those services was the company Taxi. I received an email from Taxi's owner, Michael Laskow, shortly after that email went out.  Michael had a concern about a couple points I raised in my email as it relates to Taxi and felt that some of what I wrote about Taxi was not entirely accurate. I would like to take this opportunity to clarify a couple points I raised about Taxi's service that may have unintentionally been misleading.

In my previous email I wrote the following as it relates to the cost of Taxi's service VS mine:

"90 Submissions Through Taxi (no coaching, educational material, weekly video tutorials, audio interviews, etc....)
Cost to join: $299.97
90 submission fees @ $5.00 each - $450.00
Total Cost - $749.97"

Michael has brought to my attention that Taxi does actually offer both video tutorials as well as coaching.

Taxi offers weekly video tutorials that are free for both members and non members alike.  I was not aware of this and apologize for implying that Taxi does not offer this form of training.

Michael also brought to my attention that Taxi offers coaching both in the form of written critiques of songs that are submitted to them by their members as well as free admission for their members to their annual Road Rally convention.  My new program, The 90 Day Challenge, includes interactive phone and email coaching with me personally.  What I meant to imply was that Taxi's service doesn't imply this type of interactive coaching.  Again, I apologize for any confusion I may have caused.

Comparing my services to others is a valid and legal thing to do. I'm excited about what I'm offering and I'm eager to demonstrate why I think my products and services are your best choice. However, as a company and person the last thing in the world I want is a reputation as someone who speaks dishonestly about other people and businesses. It's never my intent to be dishonest and to the extent that my last email was (unintentionally) misleading and/or inaccurate, I sincerely apologize to Michael Laskow, Taxi and my subscribers.
