How To Market Your Music Online And Make A Full Time Living

Published: Tue, 04/14/09

Last night I had about an hour long conversation with a new friend of mine, John Oszajca. John is both a fellow musician, as well as a fellow internet marketer, so we have a lot in common.  John has been doing really well marketing his music online and he has been kind enough to share a lot of what he has learned with me.

John is also an extremely cool and humble guy.  After I spoke with John last night I decided to google his name and was surprised to find clips of him on Entertainment Tonight, Dr. Drew.com, The TV Show ER and press references made to him in numerous publications including Rolling Stone.  All of these things John failed to mention to me.

John's story is very, very interesting.  He was signed to one of the largest new artist deals in history about nine years ago on Interscope Records.  He received a ton of press and things were going great.  Then... things didn't exactly turn out as planned. After a ton of touring, press, etc...  He was dropped from his label.

So..  John decided to turn to the internet to make money.  First marketing other  products and ultimately marketing his own music.  And although I'm not at liberty to tell you exactly how much John is making, let's just say he is doing very, very well.

John has written a very easy to understand guide that outlines his music marketing strategies.  If you've been a subscriber of mine for very long you'll know that I rarely rec commend  other products, services, etc..  Mainly because I just don't think there is very much quality information being distributed online for musicians.  But trust me when I tell you that John is the real deal.

The internet has yet to eliminate the need for a middleman for musicians, but I think in the future this will change. There are a lot of people making a lot of money on the internet and I see no reason musicians can't apply the same techniques and strategies to successfully market their music.  John's guide will open up your eyes to many new marketing possibilities that you´re most likely not familiar with.

For more information on John's marketing strategies for musicians go here.  You should check it out, if nothing else just read about his story and background.  Very interesting.

Happy Trails,
