Hi ,

Last night I attended and performed at an open mic here in the Chicago area where I live.  I was blown away by the talent I saw last night.  Really!  Almost every single performer I saw was REALLY good.  It was amazing.  A couple of the performers in particular blew me away.  I was actually a little intimidated by the time I had to perform! 

I left with mixed emotions though.  As much as I was really impressed with what I saw there was a part of me that was actually a little saddened.  One of the performers I saw I've known for close to ten years now and he has been honing his chops in the Chicago area for almost this whole time.  And as far as I can tell, he's still playing the same places he always has and he said he's still working his day job that he's less than thrilled to be working at.  It really pisses me off!  This guy is AMAZING, both as a vocalist and as a guitarist. I mean really amazing.  I'm sure you've known musicians with similar stories.  Musicians who are really good but just can't seem to get the break they need.  Maybe you feel that way about yourself! 

Well I don't have ALL The answers for you but I am working on it!  I'm in the process of starting a new leg of my company whose mission is to empower musicians with great talent and skill to learn how to make themselves heard by more and more people both through licensing deals and in other ways.  There are so many musicians who I know have the potential to do great things with a little direction and a little help.  More and more I feel like it is my calling to work with musicians to help them succeed. 

In the meantime I'm continuing to work with artists who want to learn how to place their music in TV and Film. This is one the most attainable and potentially lucrative areas for independent musicians to enter into. For me personally, it's been both a great source of extra income as well as a HUGE confidence builder for me.  It feels great to know that your music is needed.
