It was a fun year and I really got back in touch with my love for playing guitar and performing live. I recorded less music than usual last year, but I played guitar and practiced guitar more than I have in years, which felt really great.
Sometimes with all the effort and
focus we put on trying to "make it" and earn money from our music, it's easy to lose sight of why we make music in the first place, which for me is all about inspiring and moving people through music.
The feeling I get from watching people light up when I'm performing music will never get old. For me, playing live provides the most instant gratification in terms of feeling and sensing the effect music has on people. When you perform live you get to see, in
real time, the impact music makes. It's palpable and undeniable.
That said, I also equally love writing songs and this year I wrote several dozen new songs and I'm going to return to my passion of recording and licensing music with a vengeance in 2023.
I'm going to be sharing a lot of new content over the coming months related to both licensing, music marketing, songwriting and much more.
